KWANTLEN POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Reliance Foundry offers an annual scholarship of $1,000 CAD available to a student enrolled in the School of Business program at KPU. This scholarship is a way for us to connect with the community and help strengthen our community’s local workforce.

SUPPORT FOR THE CANADIAN RACE RELATIONS FOUNDATION

Our company is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist workplace. It is an ongoing process of listening and learning. We stand with those who are speaking out with the hope of ending systemic racism. This year, we made a donation to the Canadian Race Relations Foundation in support of their vital work.

SUPPORT FOR THE SURREY FIREFIGHTERS’ CHARITABLE SOCIETY

Station 1271, completed earlier this year, is the new home of the Surrey Firefighters’ Charitable Society. We are pleased to donate to their excellent work providing food to local school children and supporting the healing of those with traumatic injury.

MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING (MADD CANADA)

A large part of our business is built around protecting people from vehicle crashes—whether accidental, terrorism or theft-related, or caused by impaired or distracted driving. That’s why we felt that donating to MADD Canada, an organization whose mission is to stop impaired driving, and help victims of crashes, would be a great fit for giving back to our local community in 2017.

RELIANCE JOINS #TEAMTREES

Team Trees started as an internet dare to YouTube star Mr. Beast. Could Mr. Beast and his fans donate enough to fund the planting of 20 million trees, by January 1st, 2020? Big donations from notables like Elon Musk and Tobi Lütke brought attention to the cause. Reliance made a donation of 50 trees in November—for a better future.

THE REVITALIZATION OF FIREHALL 1271

Our bollards are sometimes used to support placemaking and other times to support historic revitalization. Surrey firefighters undertook a firehall revitalization project that involved both. They volunteered their time and expertise to transform Station 1271 into a gathering place and community hub. Reliance was honored to add bollards to their design.
